Are you looking for help with emotional and relationship difficulties? Psychoanalytic psychotherapy offers an opportunity to explore current problems, and the possibility of understanding these in the context of your life. Before starting therapy with me, I offer one or two consultations initially to discuss the concerns that have led you to seek therapy; if together we think therapy isn’t right at this point I can advise on the most helpful alternative. I offer both individual short-term and long-term psychotherapy.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I have extensive clinical psychotherapy experience, having worked in the NHS for over 25 years, and as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy for 15 years. I trained in Psychiatry at the Maudsley and Bethlem Royal Hospitals; and in Psychotherapy at the Maudsley and Cassel Hospitals, and at the Tavistock Clinic. My roles have also involved teaching and supervising psychotherapy.

I was formerly a Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy at St Thomas' Hospital, and a visiting lecturer at the Tavistock Clinic. I qualified as a group analyst with the Institute of Group Analysis. I have alongside this also worked in private practice. I offer private psychotherapy supervision to both individuals and organisations.

I also regularly update my training through continuing professional development and have completed Mentalisation Based Therapy training (for Borderline Personality Disorder).
